NASHVILLE, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Nashville superstar Tim McGraw should come out OK if the worst criticism he gets for his acting in the movie, "Flicka," is that he is "mean."
McGraw and his equally famous wife, Faith Hill, hosted an afternoon screening of the film for their daughters and some of their schoolmates at Nashville's Belcourt Theater Tuesday.
"They loved it -- well, my daughter said I was mean, but I don't think I was mean in it," McGraw told the Nashville Tennessean. "They don't like strict dads; it reminds them of me."
McGraw plays the father of actress Alison Lohman in the film about a young woman's efforts to tame a wild horse.
McGraw made two films in 2004 -- "Friday Night Lights" and "Black Cloud" -- and said he chose "Flicka," a family movie, so his children could see him on the screen.
But with that out of the way, he said he is looking forward to returning to "heavy" roles. After "Flicka" comes out next week, McGraw will next be seen with Jamie Foxx in "The Kingdom."
"I'm not in it a lot," he said, "but there are some really good scenes with Jamie. It's a very serious movie."
