LifeandStyleMag.com reported that an "Oprah" insider said that the 44-year-old actor, whose public image first took a hit from a couch-bouncing interview with Winfrey last year, is set to appear on the talk show soon to win back the public's good faith.
"Tom needs to repair his image and Oprah is more than glad to help him," said the insider. "She feels partially responsible for what happened because it all started on her show."
The "Mission Impossible III" star had appeared alongside Winfrey on her show on May 25 last year and his now infamous couch jumping incident over his relationship with actress Katie Holmes was the beginning of a series of disastrous events for the actor.
The Web site said that after his "Oprah" appearance, Cruise saw his image plummet due to his strong outspoken beliefs based in Scientology and his flagging image ultimately led up to him being released by Paramount Pictures.
