Jack Osbourne: Learned addictions from dad

LONDON, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Jack Osbourne said in a recent interview with Britain's Mirror that the behavior of his rocker father, Ozzy Osbourne, led him to drug addiction.

The 20-year-old Osbourne confessed to the newspaper that during his childhood he was exposed the Black Sabbath singer's addictions to the point that he believed such behavior was normal and ultimately followed in his father's self-destructive footsteps.

"I'd see my dad taking pills, and I would go to the shop and buy myself a box of Tic Tac mints." the younger Osbourne told the paper. "Then I would bring them home and swallow them down -- just to be like him."

Also in the interview, Osbourne detailed how he inadvertently attempted suicide in New York during a bout of depression and the shocking realization that came to him after he managed to survive.

"How I survived, I don't know." he told The Mirror regarding his ingestion of countless prescription pills and half a bottle of absinthe. "Twelve hours later I woke up. I don't remember if I felt relieved or upset that I was still alive, but as I looked at the remnants of my suicide attempt around me I suddenly felt very alone."
