JFK Jr.'s friend dishes stories in bio

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- John F. Kennedy Jr. showed a penchant for beautiful, complicated women, according to the author of "Forever Young: My Friendship with John F. Kennedy Jr."

In the latest book about Kennedy, William Sylvester Noonan said Kennedy received sexually suggestive phone calls from Madonna, the New York Daily News said. "A familiar voice was on his answering machine, calling him 'Kennedy' and moaning about being drunk and in Rome and describing exactly what she wanted to do with" him, Noonan, a family friend, wrote.

Noonan said Kennedy's wife, Carolyn Bessette, was a handful, too, the newspaper said. She reportedly used drugs, attended daily therapy sessions and felt intimidated by the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the News said. Plus, she didn't like the limelight.

Shortly before the 1999 plane crash that claimed their lives, Kennedy told Noonan that "Carolyn was better," the report said.
