GLASGOW, Scotland, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The Daily Record in Glasgow, Scotland, Monday retracted quotes it attributed to Nicole Kidman that disparaged Angelina Jolie's charity efforts.
The Daily Record on Sept. 8 quoted the Australian actress as saying, among other things: "It's not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she's getting the publicity for her contribution."
The article went on to imply Jolie was merely seeking publicity via her activism.
Kidman's publicist denied her client ever said any such thing and on Monday, the newspaper confirmed it, E! Online reported.
In addition to printing Kidman never made the remarks about Jolie, the newspaper apologized for "any upset caused."
Both actresses are goodwill ambassadors to the United Nations.
