Braff unsure of 'Scrubs' future

NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Zach Braff says it is unclear if the sixth season of his TV sit-com, "Scrubs," will be his last.

"I'm not sure that it's the last season," Braff said. "I'm not sure if it's my last season or if it was my last season, if the show would go on without me. There are so many variables. We're not even on the air yet. The network hasn't decided (where to put us.) They're waiting for their other shows to bomb before they put us on the air."

Braff, who starting Friday can be seen in the big-screen romance "The Last Kiss," said he is amazed by how "Scrubs" could fail to be a Nielsen ratings hit when it has such a huge cult following.

"It has a great, great fan-base; unfortunately, none of them have Nielsen boxes," he joked. "We really have 40 million fans, it's just coincidence that none of them have a Nielsen box."

Braff promised this season will be "just as wacky" as the fifth season, adding, "We're doing it for us now, and the fans, obviously."
