'Rocky' statue regains Philadelphia home

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Art Commission Wednesday decided to return its famed "Rocky" statue to the public view outside the Art Museum.

The commission voted 6-2 to bring the 8-foot-tall statue out of storage and place it on a pedestal at the bottom of the stairs made famous by Sylvester "Rocky" Stallone in the 1976 Hollywood film, KYW-TV, Philadelphia reported.

The statue will be dedicated Friday during the city's "Philly Loves Rocky" celebration.

Other festivities include a Rocky look-alike contest, prize fights and a Saturday appearance by Stallone.
