Nicole and Lionel Richie on weight loss

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- In an interview on "The Tyra Banks Show" airing Tuesday, Nicole Richie talks about paparazzi and the attention photographers have put on her weight.

She doesn't mind the paparazzi all the time, she said, mostly just when she goes to the beach or out to eat at restaurants, TMZ.com reported Thursday.

"It's summer, everyplace to go eat you obviously eat outside ... I'm not eating for the cameras, I live in LA, I do what I normally do," added Richie. "What really bothers me is when I go to the beach because when I go to the beach, they want me in the swimsuit."

Nicole isn't the only one worried about the paparazzi or her weight loss. Her father, Lionel Richie, was so shook up over her weight loss that he took her to a doctor.

"I stood in front of (the doctor), just like you and I now, looked him in the eyes, and I said 'Is it anorexia?' And he said, 'It isn't anorexia,'" the musician tells the Swedish newspaper Expressen.

Richie claims photos of Nicole have been tweaked to make her look skinnier than she is. "Many times, they manipulate pictures of her," he said. "She's shown me the difference between the original and what's published in the newspaper. They make her look much worse."
