CAIRNS, Australia, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Footage of a stingray killing "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin in the waters off Australia's Great Barrier Reef will most likely surface on the Internet.
Irwin's manager, John Stainton, has vowed to do everything possible to keep the "terrible" footage from ever being seen.
But because a cameraman was following Irwin's every move for a documentary, it will be nearly impossible to keep the video contained, Paul Levinson, chairman of Fordam University's Department of Communication and Media Studies, told the New York Daily News.
Stainton told reporters Tuesday the cameraman kept the tape rolling as the stingray spiked Irwin's heart because he did not realize the attack would be fatal.
"It's a very hard thing to watch, because you are actually witnessing somebody die," Stainton said.
Irwin's body has been returned to his hometown in Queensland and plans were being made for a private funeral.
