Star signed Lamborghini sells for $500,000

AUBURN, Ind., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A "Lamborghini Gallardo" signed by 33 top stars was sold Tuesday by an Indiana auctioneer to John O'Quinn for a record $500,000.

The vehicle was sold to benefit the Child Safety Network, a charitable trust that has been dedicated to preventing child abuse, abduction and injury for the last 17 years, by at the Kruse International.

The Celebrity Gallardo broke the record for the most money ever paid for a new Lamborghini, Child Safety Network said in a release.

The 33 stars who signed the car included this year's Emmy winner for Best Actor, Keifer Sutherland and actors and actresses, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jon Voight, Ben Affleck, Dakota Fanning, Paula Abdul, Samuel L. Jackson, James Caan, Hugh Hefner, Deborah Messing, Will Ferrell, Randy Travis, Regis Philbin and others.

"Although only a handful of people could afford to bid on this fabulous dream car," said Ward Leber, chief executive officer of CSN, "the media exposure will bring attention to our Web site, www.csn.org, where every parent can receive free vital information and resources on over 30 child safety topics. The funds will help us continue our 17-year mission to make America a safer place for children to live."
