Kidman to unveil film at new Rome festival

ROME, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Actress Nicole Kidman will personally unveil her latest film "Fur" at the inaugral Rome Film Festival, it was reported Monday.

In "Fur," Kidman portrays photographer Diane Arbus, who broke from her family's fur-trading business to become a famed photographer.

Kidman has confirmed she will attend the festival's debut gala Oct. 13, ANSA reported.

Also debuting at the festival will be Indian director Mira Nair's "The Namesake," which details an Indian family's attempt to assimilate into American life.

Insiders predict the new Rome festival could ultimately become bigger than the Venice Film Festival because of the latter's problem with overbooked theaters, ANSA said.
