LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" cruised to its third weekend in the No. 1 spot with $14.1 million in estimated U.S. box office receipts.
"Snakes on a Plane" slithered its way to second with $13.85 million in its first weekend.

"World Trade Center" was No. 3 in its second weekend with $10.8 million; collegiate comedy "Accepted" was No. 4 with $10.11 million in its first weekend.
"Step Up" stepped back with more than a 50 percent drop in sales for No. 5 with $9.86 million in its second weekend of release.
"Barnyard: The Original Party Animals" scratched up nearly $7.5 million for sixth; "Little Miss Sunshine" ran away with about $5.67 million for seventh; "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" sailed along in its seventh week, with $8.2 million for eighth; and "Material Girls" looked positively non-material, taking in $4.62 million on only 1,509 screens in its first weekend.
"Pulse" still had a pulse, just barely, rounding out the top 10 with a little more than $3.52 million in its second weekend.
