J. Lo producing two shows for TV

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Actress Jennifer Lopez, whose previous effort at TV production fell short, is producing two new shows -- both for U.S. basic cable channels.

Lopez and Simon Fields are executive producing "Echo Park" for FX and "Moves" for MTV, through her company, Nuyorican Productions in California.

"Echo Park" is a half-hour show that explores a Los Angeles neighborhood's culture clashes, Variety reported. "Moves" is about dancers trying to get a break.

Lopez got started as a dancer herself on "In Living Color."

She previously produced "South Beach," a prime time soap on UPN, which has since merged with The WB to form a new network, CW. "South Beach" only lasted seven weeks, averaging fewer than 2 million weekly viewers.
