At Saturday's event, all this year's British winners will be recognized, including actress Tilda Swinton, director D.A. Pennebaker and the director-producer teams of Ken Loach and Rebecca O'Brien, and Mike Leigh and Simon Channing-Williams.

"The Diamond Awards are meant to celebrate outstanding contributions to worldwide cinema and we feel these inaugural recipients perfectly exemplify this and set the tone for any future awards," the festival's artistic director, Shane Danielsen, told Variety.

"We are particularly pleased to acknowledge the creative partnerships that underpin excellence in filmmaking with the awards to Mike and Simon and Ken and Rebecca," he added.
