'Talledaga' rules for second weekend

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" continued to cruise at the top of the U.S. box office with $23 million in gross receipts in its second weekend.

Teen flick "Step Up" was a strong No. 2 with a little over $21 million in its first weekend.

"World Trade Center" was No. 3 with more than $19 million, also in its first weekend.

All estimated figures are from Box Office Mojo.

The animated "Barnyard: The Original Party Animals" netted $10 million in its second weekend for the No. 4 spot; "Pulse," fifth with $8.456 million; "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" sixth in its sixth weekend, $7.2 million; "The Descent" and "Zoom" were next with about $4.6 million each; "Miami Vice" ninth with $4.54 million in its third weekend.

"Monster House" brought up the rear with $3.3 million in its fourth weekend.
