Beatrice to follow Fergie's charity lead

LONDON, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Princess Beatrice of York, on a tour of London's University College Hospital, said she intends to follow her mother's lead on charity work.

The Daily Mirror reported the British princess, whose full name is Beatrice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor, said she intends to emulate her controversial mother Sarah, Duchess of York, through her own charity work in Britain.

"I see myself as a mini-mummy," said the princess, who celebrated her 18th birthday Tuesday. "I want to build on what mummy is establishing and go forward into the new generation and get the word out there."

The newspaper said that Beatrice, who attends St. George's School in Surrey, also dismissed the concept of using her newfound royal title of Her Royal Highness, which she is allowed to use following her birthday.

"I don't want any of that. I'm just Beatrice."
