"You're incredibly talented, and that's why these books make me sick," said "Runway's" Tim Gunn, the New York Post reported.

Michael, 34, did not deny he had the books, but said he had not used them to cheat, People magazine reported.

"These pattern books were not the kind that you would be able to use for practical purposes on the show," he said. "I brought it because I was working on my menswear line at the time," he said. "And the other was a dictionary of production terms.

"My image has been tarnished forever," Michael said as he left the show.

Even so, he was still confident he could get the money together for a showroom, without the $100,000 prize money.
