Dj Star lawsuit against city councilman

NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- New York hip-hop DJ Star is suing the city councilman who got him fired for verbally attacking a rival DJ's daughter on the air.

DJ Star, whose real name is Troi Torain, claims in his multimillion lawsuit that City Councilman John Liu attacked him because of Liu's "desire for self-promotion and aggrandizement," the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Liu called DJ Star "a sick pedophile loser."

The controversial DJ, who was making about $4 million a year before he was fired from Power 105.1 in May, said he can't move on until "everyone who has interfered (with) and undermined (his) business and career" is dealt with.

Liu has said he is not worried about going to court with Star.

"We would much rather he go after me than 4-year-old girls," he said.
