LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Building off the recent success of the two-part TV series "Broken Trail," the American Movie Classics network is set to release a new slate of series.
Daily Variety reported that after the Robert Duvall series garnered 10 million viewers in July, AMC officials decided to follow it with several original scripted series from veterans of the entertainment industry.
Among these new series will be an adaptation of the British series "My Life in Film" from "Boston Legal" writer Phoef Sutton, a suburbia horror series produced by "Donnie Darko" creator Richard Kelley, and a supernatural series from Peter O'Fallon, the director of the TNT series "Blade."
AMC execs said the new series all follow in the network's scope and will hopefully help build upon the 23 percent increase in overall primetime viewers the network experienced in July, Variety said.
