NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Pop star Pink has been voted the Best Musical Buddy by the users of AOL's Instant Messenger, or AIM.
Pink received the second annual Best Musical Buddy award at Webster Hall in New York, after being voted the number one pick by about 43 million AIM users, said AOL in a news release.
The award is given to the musical artist that AIM users would most like to see added to their AIM Buddy list.
"This award showcases just how popular Pink is," said Marcien Jenckes, vice president and general manager for AIM and ICQ, AOL.
"For AIM users, the Buddy List is a very powerful social tool with their screen name being an essential part of their social identity. By selecting Pink as their 'Best Musical Buddy,' AIM users told us they admire her honest, no-nonsense personality in addition to greatly enjoying her music."
