DETROIT, July 18 (UPI) -- Steve Miller is revisiting his landmark album "Fly Like an Eagle" as it reaches its 30th anniversary with a new edition of the landmark collection.
"Time goes by so fast it feels like seven years ago -- if that," Miller says. But he adds that he's pleased the album, which sold 4 million copies and spent nearly two years on the Billboard 200 chart, has endured, which, he says, it was designed to do.
"I wanted it to sound fresh," he explains. "I wanted to have music that felt kind of timeless and not trendy or anything. I figured I might have to play this stuff for 25 or 30 years, so I was pretty careful about it."
Miller is commemorating the anniversary with a new edition of "Fly Like an Eagle" which includes outtakes plus a bonus DVD featuring a concert from 2005 and an extensive interview about the making of the album.
