Judge orders woman away from Cusack

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 18 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered a local woman to distance herself from actor John Cusack.

TMZ.com reported Tuesday's ruling forbids Emily Leatherman from contacting the 40-year-old Cusack in any way and from being within 100 yards of the "High Fidelity" star.

Over the last 16 to 18 months Leatherman, who has been arrested numerous times for assault with a deadly weapon, had appeared at several scheduled appearances by the actor and had sent him a series of letters, Cusack's court filings said.

Cusack was not in attendance at Leatherman's hearing, during which she informed the judge she has previously has legal problems with actor Tom Cruise as well, the Web site said.
