LOS ANGELES, July 5 (UPI) -- Hollywood star Ben Stiller is teaming up with CBS to launch a comedy show starring his wife, actress Christine Taylor.
Stiller will direct and executive produce the pilot and make periodic appearances if the series produced by CBS Paramount Network Television is picked up, the Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.
CBS has made a commitment to the pilot for the untitled project to be written by Ajay Sahgal, and is looking at starting production as early as this summer, The Reporter said.
The comedy will be loosely based on Taylor's life.
"She is a small-town girl who has found her way into Hollywood but still retains a lot of the values and humility (of her upbringing)," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said. "There are times when she is befuddled by her status -- being an actress married to a big movie star."
