LAS VEGAS, July 1 (UPI) -- Former Beatles, widows, relatives and others showed up for the opening night in Las Vegas of "Love," a Cirque de Soleil musical based on the pop group.
Surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were there, NME.com reports, as well as Yoko Ono, Julian Lennon, Julian's mother Cynthia and Olivia Harrison.
The show at the $130 million, 2,013-seat Mirage Theatre depicts the Beatles from their childhood in the 1940s to their international success in the 1960s.
It included acrobatics and dancing, and was set to 130 Beatles tunes personally remixed the Beatles producer George Martin, NME.com said.
McCartney, Starr, Ono and Olivia Harrison were involved in the production, the first major stage project for Apple Corps, the BBC said. At the end of opening night Friday, McCartney appeared on the stage and shouted, "This is for John and George," NME.com said.
