NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- Foxy Brown has been named to the musical lineup of the upcoming Reggae Gold Live 2006 Summer Jumpoff concert in New York.
The rapper, who recently had successful surgery to regain her hearing, will join acts such as Wayne Wonder, Beenie Man, and Kulcha Don for the HIV/AIDS awareness concert, Allhiphop.com reports.
"I feel that this is a very important issue, not only in the inner cities where I'm from, but across the entire world," Foxy Brown told the Web site. "I am just happy that I can be a part of something like this and bring awareness to my fans."
The reggae concert is part of LIFEbeat's Hearts & Voices Benefit Concert Series, which is directed at increasing knowledge concerning the AIDS crisis in the Caribbean.
The Summer Jumpoff concert is scheduled for July 18 at New York's Webster Hall with tickets available through Ticketweb or online at websterhall.com, the Web site said.
