Billie Piper won't take money in divorce

LONDON, June 27 (UPI) -- "Dr. Who" actress Billie Piper said she won't take a penny from soon-to-be ex-husband, London disc jockey Chris Evans.

The pop singer-turned-actress who married Evans, then 34, in Las Vegas five years ago when she was just 18 years old, is financially successful without Evans' millions, hellomagazine.com reported.

Piper reportedly earned $182,000 for "Doctor Who" and will get almost a half million dollars for acting in the movie version of the Sally Lockhart mystery novels.

Piper is on good terms with Evans, but is romantically involved with law student Amadu Sowe, 28, who shares her $3.6 million home in West London.

Piper said she had quit her role playing Rose Tyler in "Doctor Who" to spend more time with Sowe.

"We filmed in Wales for nine months, and I didn't like being away from home," said Piper. "I enjoy being domesticated, washing up and cooking dinner for my boyfriend."
