Grenier sees link between Entourage, Prada

NEW YORK, June 22 (UPI) -- Adrian Grenier says his new film, "The Devil Wears Prada," shares a theme with his U.S. TV show, "Entourage" -- young people overwhelmed by glamorous jobs.

In "Entourage," Grenier plays Vincent, an actor trying to make sense of the madness of Hollywood after his career takes off. In "The Devil Wears Prada," he plays a nice guy whose girlfriend, Andy, (Anne Hathaway) tries to survive a job at one of the world's most famous fashion magazines.

"To me, I felt like Andy was the Vincent character," Grenier told UPI in New York Monday.

"She is venturing into this very treacherous world of fashion where it's very volatile and they'll eat you alive if you're not strong enough, just as Vincent is navigating his way through the world of Hollywood, which is very much the same," he said. "I sort of play her friend and confidante who is trying to keep her grounded through it all, in much the same way as Vincent's entourage is keeping him sane and grounded."

Co-starring Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, "The Devil Wears Prada" opens nationwide June 30.
