Unsigned 'Sopranos' actors question future

NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- With filming for the final season of the "The Sopranos" about to begin in New Jersey, key actors remain unsigned and their characters are in limbo.

FoxNews.com reports the actors who play Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri, Silvio Dante, Bobby Bacala, Dr. Jennifer Melfi -- and even Tony Soprano's children Meadow and A.J. -- all have not signed new contracts and may face having their characters leave or die on the show.

Despite HBO's recent sale of rebroadcast rights to A&E for $195 million, a source told FoxNews.com HBO has not offered the actors significant raises.

"No one has deals and they're very far apart," the source said. "(Show creator) David Chase has tried to help the actors, but even his pleas have fallen on deaf ears."

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who plays Meadow, is reportedly the least likely to return to the show. Sigler made $85,000 per episode last season and did not even appear in the season finale.
