ATLANTA, June 3 (UPI) -- A rap duo and their entourage were arrested on drug and gun charges after their tour bus was pulled over and searched en route to a Columbus, Ga., show.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports everyone on the bus of Atlanta-based rappers Youngbloodz were arrested Thursday afternoon after being pulled over by the Coweta County, Ga., Sheriff's Department for expired Florida tags on I-85.
Police say they found a half pound of marijuana in 11 bags hidden on the bus and two guns under a mattress.
Tice Merriweather, senior director of publicity for Jive Records said Friday his artists are innocent and will be cleared of the charges.
All those arrested posted bond Friday.
Twenty-nine year-old Jeffrey Ray Grigsby, who's rapper name is J-Bo, and 27-year-old Sean Paul Joseph, who raps as Sean Paul, make up the Youngbloodz.
They reached acclaim with their southern rap sound and hits such as "U-Way," "85 South," and "Cadillac Pimping."
