Tonys celebrate 60th year with 60 hosts

NEW YORK, May 24 (UPI) -- Organizers of the 60th annual Tony Awards will employ 60 celebrity hosts for the 2006 telecast from New York's Radio City Music Hall.

Several big names are already attached the June 11 celebration of Broadway theater -- including "The Color Purple" executive producer Oprah Winfrey and actors Ralph Fiennes, Cynthia Nixon, Glenn Close, Julia Roberts, Martin Short, Mark Ruffalo, Bernadette Peters, Anna Paquin, Alfre Woodard and Eric McCormack, E! Online reported.

The sleeper hit of the Broadway season, "The Drowsy Chaperone," leads nominees with 13 nods including best musical.

CBS will broadcast the ceremony live at 8 p.m. EDT.
