Chili Peppers new album still red hot

NEW YORK, May 24 (UPI) -- The Red Hot Chili Peppers held onto the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums and Rock Albums charts Wednesday.

Cam'ron's "Killa Season" entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 while Tool's "10,000 Days" held onto the No. 3 spot for a third week.

The Disney Channel's soundtrack to "High School Musical" rose from No. 7 last week to No. 4 followed by former O-Town member Ashley Parker Angel's solo debut, "Soundtrack to Your Life," at No. 5.

No. 6 on the Top 200 and No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart was Rascal Flatts' "Me and My Gang" and "Broken Boy Soldiers," the debut from White Stripes' Jack White's new band, The Raconteurs, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7.

The 21st "NOW! That's What I Call Music" compilation came in at No. 8, Nick Lachey's "What's Left of Me" was No. 9 and the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 was filled out by Pearl Jam's self-titled album.

Overall, 9.2 million CDs were sold in the United States last week, a drop of 16 percent from the previous week and sales lagged 13 percent behind the same week last year. Yearly sales stood at 212.4 million albums, 2 percent behind last year's figure.
