LONDON, May 15 (UPI) -- Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler is suing the woman who knocked him off his motorcycle in London and left him with serious injuries in 2003.
Knopfler has filed a suit in London seeking 300,000 pounds ($540,000) from Monica Beltran, who was convicted of careless driving and jailed for 15 months for entering England with a false passport, contactmusic.com reported Monday.

Beltran, 25, was deported to her home country of Ecuador after completing her sentence, the Web site said.
Knopfler had to cancel a tour while he recovered from a broken collarbone, shoulder and seven ribs.
