MTV Movie Awards nominees announced

LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) -- "Wedding Crashers" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" each garnered five nominations Monday for the 2006 MTV Movie Awards.

"Batman Begins," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "Hustle & Flow," "Sin City" and "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" each garnered three nods, MTV announced. The ceremony will air on MTV live June 8.

Individual leaders include Steve Carell with nods for Best Performance, Comedic Performance and On-Screen Team, and Jessica Alba in the categories of Best Team, Best Hero and Sexiest Performance.

Jake Gyllenhaal, Terrence Howard, Angelina Jolie, Ewan McGregor, Brad Pitt, Jessica Simpson, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson each received two nods apiece.

Living up to its reputation of the most inclusive film awards ceremony, MTV even gave a nod to Paris Hilton for Best Frightened Performance for her role in "House of Wax."
