ROME, April 18 (UPI) -- Screen legend Sophia Loren said sifting through her belongings for a display at Rome's central Vittoriano complex was "a hell of a job."
"I was amazed when I heard the idea of holding this show," Loren told ANSA. "I'm happy. It is nice to talk about my career, which has lasted 50 years.
"It was a hell of a job though," she said. "I spent months rummaging in the basement, remembering things and selecting."
Movie posters, magazine covers, scripts, costumes, awards and personal correspondence are among the many items on display.
The exhibit includes a Christmas card from Charlie Chaplin, a telegram from Cary Grant, a message from Marcello Mastroianni and letters from George Pompidou, Jacques Chirac, Nancy Reagan and Bill Clinton.
The display also includes many portraits, family photos and her report cards from her Naples school days.
