2007 Oscars set for Feb. 25

LOS ANGELES, April 18 (UPI) -- The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is moving the 79th Annual Academy Awards back to the last Sunday in February.

The Oscar ABC telecast was moved back a week this year to avoid going up against the Winter Olympics closing ceremony, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The 2007 ceremony will be conducted Feb. 25 at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, Academy President Sid Ganis announced Monday.

The biggest difference in the date change will be a slightly accelerated time frame for nominating and voting, The Reporter noted.
