Sony reschedules 'All the King's Men'

LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Sony Pictures' "All the King's Men" starring Sean Penn finally has a release date for U.S. theaters.

The film adaptation of Robert Penn Warren's novel was supposed to come out last winter but it was pulled from the schedule because editing was not finished.

Now, Sony officials say the film will be released Sept. 22, reported Thursday.

In the film, Penn portrays flamboyant Gov. Willy Stark and Jude Law plays journalist Jack Burden along with an A-list cast including Anthony Hopkins, Kate Winslet, Patricia Clarkson and James Gandolfini.

Opening the same weekend will be Paramount's "Jackass 2" plus two limited releases, "Running With Scissors" and Christopher Guest's latest comedy "For Your Consideration," reported.
