LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- Tim Allen and George Lopez have signed on to star in Touchstone Pictures' comedy, "Amigos," it was reported Thursday.
The film is based on an idea by Allen in which the stars play mismatched in-laws raising their grandson, Daily Variety reported.

Allen is in theaters now in Disney's "The Shaggy Dog" and will next star in "Wild Hogs" with Martin Lawrence and John Travolta.
Lopez' ABC sitcom is in its fifth year and he has a starring role coming up in Universal's "The Richest Man in the World."
