Documentary explores the 'f-word'

NEW YORK, March 24 (UPI) -- New York-based ThinkFilm has nabbed worldwide rights to a film based on a four-letter expletive commonly used to describe the act of sexual intercourse.

Steve Anderson's documentary seeks opinions on the word otherwise known as the "f-bomb" from crooner Pat Boone; rapper/actor Ice-T; comic Drew Carey; newsman Sam Donaldson; actress/radio host Janeane Garofalo; porn star Ron Jeremy; filmmaker Kevin Smith and the late writer Hunter S. Thompson, among others, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The film -- which created a buzz during the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas -- examines the history as well as the impact of the word through film clips, commentary from scholars and original animation from Bill Plympton.

The film will be released in limited engagements in the fall with a TV debut on the Showtime premium cable network planned for 2007.
