LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Two California men have pleaded guilty in federal court to secretly videotaping pop singer Michael Jackson and trying to sell it to media outlets.
The Monday pleas ended the government's prosecution of XtraJet owner Jeffrey Borer and Executive Aviation Logistics owner Arvell Jett Reeves, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
"The bottom line is that even famous celebrities deserve some level of privacy in their private communications, especially when they are meeting with their attorneys," Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Shallman said after the guilty pleas were entered.
Both men had previously denied knowing anything about the tape made in 2003 as Jackson talked with attorney Mark Geragos aboard a charter flight from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara, Calif., where Jackson was accused of child molestation. Jackson was eventually acquitted and has since moved to Bahrain.
Sentencing of the two men was scheduled for July.
