LOS ANGELES, March 1 (UPI) -- The Hollywood divorce lawyer who represented Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg among others is a "person of interest" in a federal wiretapping probe.
Attorney Dennis Wasser was told by federal officials that he is being investigated for possible ties to indicted private investigator Anthony Pellicano, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
The Times said "a person of interest" will not necessarily be charged with any crimes while a "target" is more likely to face prosecution in a federal probe.
Wasser's attorney's said he believes Wasser will not be charged in conjunction with the wiretapping and racketeering probe.
Federal officials have refused to comment about Wasser or his role in the investigation, the Times said.
