LOS ANGELES, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Underage stars are flocking to one of Hollywood's hottest clubs where they are allowed to illegally drink, TMZ.com reported Tuesday.
The Web site posted pictures snapped Saturday night of 18-year-old Jesse McCartney holding a beer in in the trendy nightclub, Mood. California forbids anyone under the age of 21 drinking or even going into clubs that serve alcohol, the Web site noted.
TMZ said it also has video of Mary-Kate Olsen, 19; Lindsay Lohan, 19; and Frankie Muniz, 20; among others, going and out of the club.
"Authorities know that there are underage celebrities inside drinking and if they don't care, why should we?" one Hollywood club promoter told the Web site. "Celebrities help to make our clubs more exclusive."
Mood owner David Judaken told TMZ.com people use fake ID's to illegally gain access to his club.
California's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control began an investigation into Mood after being contacted by TMZ.com, the Web site said.
Reps for the underage McCartney had no comment on the photos.
