ASCAP to honor Isham at awards

NEW YORK, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Tuesday said "Crash" composer Mark Isham will receive its lifetime achievement award.

Isham, who has won Grammy and Emmy awards, will be honored with ASCAP's Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 21st Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., on April 11.

Isham has scored more than 70 films including "Eight Below," "Running Scared," "The Cooler," "A River Runs Through It," "Blade," "Nell," "Men of Honor," and "Miracle."

"We are very proud to celebrate the career of Mark Isham at our event this year," ASCAP President and Chairman Marilyn Bergman said in a news release. "His versatile career spans decades and his work as a musician, songwriter and composer is extraordinary."
