Joe Jackson crashes Rap Bowl concert

DETROIT, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- The most bizarre moment of "The Rap Bowl" at the Palace of Auburn Hills came courtesy of Joe Jackson, the patriarch of the musical Jackson family.

Jackson unexpectedly hopped onstage Friday night after a performance by rapper Twista, the Detroit Free Press reported Saturday.

Wearing a suit with a yellow pocket square and a baseball cap that said "Hip Hop," Michael Jackson's dad spoke briefly about his red-eye flight from the West Coast, promoted his hip hop boot camp, and then started in chanting "Luda, Luda, Luda," in reference to the next performer on the bill, Ludacris, the newspaper said.

Ludacris took the stage after a long delay.

The Palace was reported to be a sea of Detroit Lions jerseys -- with only a smattering of Pittsburgh Steelers or Seattle Seahawks jerseys among the audience.
