Belushi, Newmar end years-long feud

BRENTWOOD, Calif., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Feuding Brentwood, Calif., neighbors Jim Belushi and Julie Newmar announced the end of the mutual animosity and $4 million lawsuit Friday.

"Belushi and Newmar have amicably resolved their dispute and regret any harm they may have caused to the other," a statement from publicist Rogers & Cowan said Friday. "They look forward to a peaceful and neighborly relationship."

Belushi "has agreed to settle" his 2004 lawsuit accusing Newmar of engaging in a "malicious and premeditated campaign to prevent and destroy (his) quiet peace," E! Online reported.

Further evidence of an end to the years-long feud between Belushi, 51, and Newmar, 72, was the announcement that TV's Catwoman is guest-starring on Belushi's ABC sitcom "According to Jim."

In the Feb. 21 episode called "The Grumpy Guy," Newmar plays a children's author who models a grumpy old man after Belushi's character, E! said.
