OCEANSIDE, Calif., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Oscar-nominated costume designer Moss Mabry -- who outfitted actors in
"Giant," "Rebel Without a Cause" and "The Way We Were" -- has died at age 87.
Mabry died Wednesday from respiratory and heart problems at a hospital in Oceanside, Calif., the Los Angeles Times reported.
Mabry clothed Lana Turner, Grace Kelly, Doris Day, Goldie Hawn, Marlon Brando, John Wayne and Robert Redford, among others.
He was the costume designer for more than 80 films between 1953 and 1988, the Times said.
Mabry's four Academy Award nominations were for "Giant" with colleague Marjorie Best; "What a Way to Go!" with Edith Head; "The Way We Were" with Dorothy Jeakins; and "Morituri."
He also worked on "The Bad Seed"; "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice"; "Move Over, Darling"; "Cactus Flower"; "Butterflies Are Free"; "The Shootist"; "Continental Divide"; and "The Toy."
He had no immediate survivors.
