GLAAD hands out 158 awards nods

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- NBC led the field with five TV nominations for the 17th annual GLAAD Media Awards announced by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

"Passions," "Law & Order: SUV," "Will & Grace," "Dateline" and "My Name is Earl" will all be up for awards during the ceremony to be broadcast April 15 on LOGO and April 16 on VH1, Daily Variety reported Wednesday.

Overall, cable networks received 16 nominations while 13 nods went to broadcast networks, Variety said.

Wide-release film nominees include "Brokeback Mountain," "Capote," "The Family Stone," "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" and "Rent" while limited-release nods went to "Transamerica," "Beautiful Boxer," "Mysterious Skin," "Saving Face" and "Walk on Water."

GLAAD announced 113 nominees in 25 categories as well as 45 Spanish-language nominees in 15 categories.
