Megan Mullally talks talk show

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Megan Mullally says she will use her talk show idols as inspiration for her own syndicated show launching in the fall.

Mullally told the National Association of Television Program Executives meeting in Las Vegas she aims to make her show a "best of talk shows" event, The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.

"I've always been a big fan of talk shows, ever since I was a kid -- (Johnny) Carson, Merv (Griffin) and Mike (Douglas)," she said. "I think it's cool to pull elements from all the best shows."

"The Megan Mullally Show" is being distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Mullally, who wraps up her stint on NBC's "Will & Grace" with the show's finale this season, says her hourlong show will be more of a variety show with comedy, music, skits, field segments and a band.
