Photog not sorry for water pistol stunt

SYDNEY, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- An Australian photographer who sprayed Heath Ledger with a water pistol at the Sydney premiere of "Brokeback Mountain" says he's not sorry.

Peter Carrette was among five photographers who soaked Ledger as he arrived for his film's premiere at Fox Studios Friday night, the Sydney Herald Sun reported Tuesday.

Carrette told the newspaper the photographers were tired of the actor's "bad behavior" -- including allegedly spitting at them in the past -- and they wanted to teach him a lesson.

Carrette did, however, say he was sorry for spraying Ledger's "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Michelle Williams and said he apologized by sending her flowers.

"Brokeback" distributor Roadshow Films said the offending photographers would be banned from future events.
