LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Director David Fincher has hopped aboard Paramount's film version of the graphic novel "Torso," it was announced Thursday.
Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko based their graphic novel on the true story of a case Eliot Ness handled as Cleveland's public safety officer after his days with the U.S. Treasury battling mobster Al Capone in Chicago, The Hollywood Reporter said.
Ness started getting taunting notes after torsos started showing up in the river. With no experience in police work, Ness assembled a team of former police officers to catch the killer.
"Torso" is right up Fincher's alley, The Reporter noted. He directed the cult hit "Seven" and is currently shooting "Zodiac," about the 1970s San Francisco serial killer.
