LONDON, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. rap superstar Kanye West and British rockers Coldplay and Kaiser Chiefs were added Monday to the performers for the 2006 Brit Awards.
Previously confirmed were James Blunt, Kelly Clarkson and K.T. Tunstall, NME.com reported. More acts will be announced in the weeks leading up to the Feb. 15 ceremony at London's Earls Court.

The nominees will be announced Tuesday by BBC Radio 1 host Sara Cox.
It has already been announced that Paul Weller will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music award during the gala event.
